Rhodonite (manganese silicate)

This handsome group of blood-red, gemmy, sharp, parallel, bladed crystals is world-class. At Broken Hill, New South Wales, rhodonite crystals occur in a red transparent form, which can be occasionally faceted as a rare collectors gemstone.
