In 2005, camera traps on the Udzungwa Mountains, Tanzania, recorded a mysterious figure. In 2006, scientists were after it. They managed to catch a few specimens, which lead to an extraordinary discovery: they belonged to a new species of elephant shrew, the grey-faced sengi. New to science, but among the oldest mammals on earth.
