Brigida Fava Ghisilieri (1802-1877), was the daughter of Marchese Nicolò Fava Ghisilieri and Marchesa Gaetana Marescotti Berselli. At the age of sixteen, she married Marchese Giuseppe Tanari.
This woman was a scholar of languages and a passionate advocate for Italian unification. Her salon in Bologna was a meeting place for prominent liberals, where they discussed political matters. She supported mutual aid initiatives and helped establish modern childcare centers in Bologna.
