This white silk banner features the Napoleonic eagle on one side and the lion of Bologna on the other, framed by laurel and oak leaves. It was donated to Bologna's Municipality by Alfonso Hercolani. Established in 1805, the Honor Guard formed part of the Royal Italian Guard, with companies stationed in Milan, Bologna, Brescia, and Romagna. The Bologna company was commanded by Count Francesco Marescalchi.
