Following its nationalisation in 1950, the Weiss Manfréd Works in Csepel was renamed Rákosi Mátyás Vas- és Fémművek (Mátyás Rákosi Iron and Metal Works) at the “voluntary” suggestion of a factory worker. This straight-framed, women’s RM Csepel bicycle dates from that time. Bikes bearing this name are rarities, having been produced for only a few years. The name was taken down from the factory gate in 1956, shortly before the Revolution broke out and the day before the burial of one of Rákosi’s show-trial victims, László Rajk.
