Ferrazzi produced two versions of the same theme in 1926, one of which is conserved at the MART in Trento and Rovereto; the other is this painting belonging to the Accademia di San Luca. The Academy’s version was painted on the back of a canvas from 1915 (a preparatory study for the central section of the Hospital of S. Giacomo) and was donated to the Academy by the artist in 1935 following his promotion from accademico di merito residente (honorary academician) to accademico di merito effettivo (full academician) in 1934.
