Royal Decree of Philip III

Decree by an unknown author, centered on the figure of Saint James as patron of Spain and principal devotion of the Crown. In the main miniature, Saint James appears on horseback over his enemies, framed by floral and vegetal decoration, and by a depiction of the apostolic tomb in the lower margin.
The composition is complemented by three smaller scenes: the Vow of Saint James, the Dream of Ramiro, and the Battle of Clavijo.
