Gold medal; obverse: portrait of Beethoven in profile looking right with inscription around the rim; reverse: a laureated tied wreath enclosing an inscription; edge: additional inscription. Kept in a a hinged medal case, covered in gold-tooled brown [?] leather and with a cream velvet support inside.
