Royal provision of the Catholic Monarchs to the Chancery of Ciudad Real. It orders compliance with the Ordinances of the Courts of Madrigal on the registration of documents issued in the name of the crown and the rights to be bestowed upon the registrar and chancellor.
The obligation to register documents was essential for the Royal Chancery: no letter could be sealed without first having been registered. The Ordinances of Ciudad Real determine that seals are to be used as in the Chancery of Valladolid: the lead seal for parchment documents, and the applied paper seal of the justice authorities.
