Ruth St. Denis

Photograph of famed dancer and choreographer Ruth St. Denis circa 1920's. Along with her husband Ted Shawn, St. Denis founded the Denishawn School of Dance and Related Arts in Los, Angeles California which was one of the first professional dance institutions in America. Martha Graham began her dance studies at Denishawn in 1916, at the age of twenty-two.
