The image of "Röyi" appeared for the first time in Invención 1, a journal published by Gyula Kosice in 1945. This kinetic sculpture became an essential work for the ideas of the Madí group, being Kosice one of the leaders and main developer. Created with eight geometric wooden pieces, and mostly with tube-shaped elements, it can be handled to adopt different positions and compositions, and also explores ludic experiences and invites viewers to interact. Mingling several artistic traditions, this work can either relate to dadaism or to the toys made by Joaquín Torres García. In the aforementioned journal Invención 1 (released after the publication of Arturo magazine) there is an ever-present tension in Kosice, that is, a methodical, scientific artistic search as opposed to a desire for ludic and unapproachable realms. As many other artworks he made, "Röyi No. 2" intends to confront the traditional concept of work of art and bring into play our expectations about artistic innovation. Apart from "Röyi No. 2", which was made in wood, Kosice experimented with other articulated metal sculptures. Unlike this piece, they are made of simple structures that cannot stand by themselves and lack a predetermined shape.
