Lithographic broadside in gray, black, and orange featuring a verse from Longfellow's poem, "Sail On, O Ship of State!" The broadside is adorned with the image of galleon intertwined in the initial "S" of the verse. Printed following verse: "The [Henry Wadsworth] Longfellow verse in / MR. ROOSEVELT'S MESSAGE / TO MR. CHURCHILL". Original ink signatures: "Franklin D. Roosevelt" [upper right corner] and "Winston S. Churchill" [lower left corner]. Mounted to cardstock and matted, glazed, and framed in 3/4" black stained wood frame. Churchill had this decorative broadside printed and brought two with him - one for FDR and one for himself - to their Atlantic Charter Meeting that took place in Newfoundland, August 9-12, 1941.
