This view depicts the Salon of the Polish nobleman, Count Lanckoronski, who is seated in chair, reading. The walls are hung with paintings by Gainsborough, van Ruisdael, Waldmüller, and Claude. A collection of antique sculpture, bronzes, glass and porcelain decorates the room. A Persian carpet covers the floor. The armchairs are upholstered in the Victorian spirit with a floral and trellis design.
