Considered a monument of african-brazilian traditions, Pedra do Sal consists of gneiss facoidal, "the most carioca of the rocks" found in many natural monuments. His staircase carved by African slaves docked in Rio in the sixteenth and seventeenth and began to estabeler in the region that became known as Little Africa.
