Although replicating a medieval arch, the bridge connecting St Thomas’s Tower to the Wakefield Tower is actually a 19th-century addition. Designed by architect Anthony Salvin (1799-1881), the bridge features battlements and arrow loops, and is constructed of Kentish ragstone, giving it a medieval appearance that helps the bridge to blend in with its historic surroundings.
