These potteries intensively excavated at the Samyang-dong prehistoric site in Jeju. It feature a short neck, slightly outflaring rim and rather tall and round body with undecorated surface. Those are mainly categorized into deep bowl type potteries with upright and slightly widen mouth part or jar type potteries with no decoration. Some have with the widest part at the center of the body or its upper part, but they exhibit stability and balance with the mouth and the base in almost the same diameter. Although some jar type potteries have the shape of a typical storage jar that the largest diameter at the center of the body or its mouth part, most jar type potteries are balanced that the mouth part and its bottom part have almost same diameter. Meanwhile, the potteries in the shape of a deep bowl are similar to the plain course pottery of the middle phase with a narrower bottom and a wider mouth. The Samyangdong Style Pottery had been widely used until before the popularization of the Gwakjiri Style Pottery.
