Sangiran is an important archaeological site in Java, Indonesia. It covers 56 km2 area in Sragen and Karanganyar Regencies. This site contributes valuable remains for the understanding of human life since 2 million years ago. Recently, Sangiran site is an arid landscape in dry season and prone to erosion in rainy season. It is inhabited by around 200,000 people and the land is used for living like settlement, farm, and teak forest.
