Santa Fe Capitulations.

The Santa Fe Capitulations is a Royal Chancery document containing the capitulations Christopher Columbus signed with the monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile in Santa Fe de la Vega on 17 April 1492, a few months after the capture of Granada. It laid down the conditions under which Columbus was to set off on his first voyage, which involved the discovery of America in the same year. It’s a unique document that represents all the Chancery Registers in the Archive of the Crown of Aragon regarding the culture, society, institutions, and proceedings of 15th-century Europe.
