Santal Sohrai art - traditional motifs

Instead of the colourful and dramatic murals a la Jharkhand, what we beheld was wall after wall, swathed in breathtaking monochromatic compositions. Stunned by the sight, we were informed that this was the tradition that belonged to the region and that the walls had only recently been decorated for their Sohrai festival.
