Oval, full-length view of Sara Knox Wood (b. November 21, 1835) daughter of Ann Mackall Taylor and Robert Crooke Wood, and grand-daughter of Zachary Taylor, the 12th president of the United States. She was born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and died unmarried. She is wearing a full length dress and stands posed with one hand resting on a chair back. A bit of red tint has been added to her lips and cheeks and the photograph is mounted and surrounded by a decorative gold border.
