In 1986, the "Castle" on Peachtree, a circa 1904 home, was referred to as "a hunk of junk" and threatened with demolition. The Atlanta Preservation Center advocated for the preservation of the Castle and other historic buildings in Atlanta by creating this pin and distributing it around the City.
Ultimately, historic preservationists worked with community partners to preserve the building and an agreement to save the building was reached with AT&T to develop the adjoining site. Today, the building has local landmark designation and has been undergone an exntensive restoration.
