Kappaphycus striatus seaweed harvested from a Malaysian seaweed farm.
Natural History Museum researchers are working with local experts to spot the early warning signs of pests and diseases that threaten seaweed crops. They are also searching for local temperature-resilient strains to develop for use in the farms.
This work is part of an initiative by the Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate.
