This pen and ink watercoulour was painted by D MacPherson in 1929. The section drawing illustrated the major improvements being carried out at Charing Cross (Embankment) station. These included reconstruction of the booking hall and the inclusion of a parade of shops. The station operated under several names but was formally renamed Embankment in 1976.
