This security police photograph shows the office in John Vorster where Elmon Malele hit his head on the corner of a table. Arrested on 10 January 1977, Malele died of a brain haemorrhage at the Princess Nursing Home in Johannesburg on 20 January 1977 after he had allegedly lost his balance after standing six hours (a standard torture technique) and hitting his head on the corner of a table at John Vorster Square. This front cover is included in "Between Life and Death: Stories from John Vorster Square" - a DVD produced as part of this project. Included in SAHA online exhibition - 'Between Life and Death: Stories from John Vorster Square', 2012.
