Pomegranates carry numerous seeds; hence they have long
been a symbol of fertility and numerous offspring. Since the
pomegranate’s tartness also appealed to expectant mothers,
it was closely associated with reproduction. Seokryujam’s
decorative end resembles a blossom carrying seeds. It can be
further distinguished according to the design of its decorative
end; some resembled a pomegranate flower bud or while others
represented a blossom in full bloom.
This particular binyeo resembles the long pomegranate blossom.
