Ding wares edge over other porcelain works because of their versatile decorative patterns. Common techniques employed in Ding wares include stamping, carving and sgraffito. This pillow manifests the sagraffito technique of the Ding kiln in full extent. On the top, there are incised peony patterns. The sides are decorated with curled grass pattern. The technique is very vigorous and lively, and the picture is grand and impressive.
