Shahanas (shellac bangles)

Brightly coloured shellac bangles patterned in silver, often with embedded mirror pieces, are part of celebrations in Awadh. From wedding ceremonies to sāwan (monsoon) observances, shahānē kī cūṛiyān/kaṛē are ordered, purchased and gifted to family and friends.
