This is a breastplate made of shell and turquoise beads. The lower edge beads are shaped as feline heads. The ornaments of the elites of ancient Peru were made of materials that were not easily accessible to ordinary people. These show the exclusive access that the elites had to prestige goods. This is the case of the tropical seas shells, Strombus sp. and Spondylus sp. and gems like turquoise and chrysocolla. (UH)

Este es un pectoral de cuentas de concha y turquesa. Las cuentas del borde inferior tienen forma de cabezas de felino. Los adornos de las élites del antiguo Perú fueron confeccionados con materiales que no eran fácilmente accesibles al común de la población. Estos muestran el acceso exclusivo que las élites tenían a bienes de prestigio. En algunos casos se trata de conchas de mares tropicales, como el Strombus sp. o el Spondylus sp., y gemas como la turquesa y la crisocola. (UH)
