This print depicts Shinagawa, the first station along the Tōkaidō Road that connected Edo and Kyoto after departure from Nihonbashi in Edo. Three women process Asakusa nori (seaweed), a famous local product that could be found from Shinagawa to Ōmori and was named after the place it was sold as high-brand seaweed. Nori was produced in autumn.
