The jade burial suit was specially designed for the king's corpse. Stretching 1.73 meters in length, the garment was made up of 2,291 pieces of jade with silk thread.
Of the tens jade burial garments found in China, this one belonged to the Nanyue King was the earliest produced. Moreover, no jade burial suit of the same type is mentioned in any historical sources, or found in any archaeological excavations. One of its striking differences with other jade burial suit is the front opening design of the coat.
