The upper and lower covers are very similar to each other. In the center of the covers, there are medallions surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath, enclosed by a convex fluted border with heads of lions, masks, fruits, and stylized leaves. On the upper cover, in the center of the medallion, there is an armed rider on a rearing horse, cutting down a tree trunk; on the lower cover, a knight in armor is riding a horse leaping into the abyss.
