The salt cellar is supported on an oval base adorned with a palmette ornament. The stem takes the form of a fully sculptural figure of an eagle perched on a rock. On its neck and outspread wings rests an oval bowl with a hammered bottom, held by a pair of ears shaped from s-shaped segments of a foliated vine, ending in curved snake heads. The interior of the bowl is gilded. On the surface of the base, the initials "M.P." are engraved in italics, alongside marks indicating the city of origin "Kalisz," the silver standard in “11” lot, and the goldsmith’s name.
