The silver statue depicting Saint Charles Borromeo is found to the right of the ciborium, behind the Duomo's main altar. It was donated to the Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano by the University of Goldsmiths in 1610. Made based on the model by Gian Andrea Biffi, the chisel is the work of the goldsmith Francesco Vertova. In 1673, it was adorned with gems and precious stones donated by the many devoted worshippers.
