Architect Sir John Soane undertook The Grand Tour to complete his education. The Soane Museum in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London (his former home and office), was designed to display the art works he collected during his lifetime.
The museum is formed from three terraced houses that were progressively rebuilt by Soane between 1792 and 1824 to form a symmetrical facade.
