Miss Joan Metzger and Miss Sylvia Whitehouse, presented to New York society at the Victory Debutante Cotillion and Ball, held on 12/20/1945 in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria. Miss Metzger is the daughter of Mrs. Edward F. Hutton (the chairman of the Victory Cotillion) and is wearing a shoulder-baring white satin gown with iridescent sequins. She was a student of Finch College and graduated a year previous to this sitting, from Foxcroft. Miss Whitehouse is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Whitehouse, also a Foxcroft graduate, at the time of this illustration she was attending Barnard College. She is wearing a bare-shouldered gown of red American Beauty net with ostrich feathers. Signed "Eric" by artist.
