Wang Yong was born in March 1948 in Beijing. In 1979, he was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts under the supervision of Professor Li Keran. In 1981, he won the first prize of Ye Shaoyu's bonus and stayed at the same year to teach. He has successively been a professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, a doctoral supervisor, a director of the Calligraphy Research Department, a member of the Subject Committee of the Chinese Painting Academy, a dean of the Chinese Academy of Art, a doctoral supervisor of the Graduate School, an outstanding expert of the Ministry of Culture, a member of the National Senior Title Evaluation Committee of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture, a Vice-Dean of the Li Keran Painting Academy, and an editor-in-chief of the magazine "Oriental Art · Calligraphy". He has held exhibitions in Japan, Singapore, the United States, Paris, Seoul, Hong Kong and Beijing. The publication includes Wang Fu's Landscape Book and so on.
