The whole object looks like a snail with a counterclockwise spiral shell, with a raised center. The end of the outer curve is sharp, and the shell has a spiral concave. As the raised surface is polished, it now looks still smooth though tainted with rust. The reverse side is coarse, with some remnants left during the making. As the object is thin in the wall, it was unlikely to be used alone. Probably it was an ornament on a large object.
