Snake tongs are a tool used for hunting snakes. It allowed the live capture of a snake by grabbing it by the head and keeping it from moving. Snake tongs were made of wooden sticks cut to a length of around 1 m. Some resembled typical tongs, while simpler versions consisted of a Y-shaped branch. There were also tongs assembled like scissors, and consisting of two wooden sticks crossed with sharpened edges to pick up snakes.
