South American Butterflies

Butterfly has not only academic values in entomology, ecology, environmental science, etc., but also has great economic and artistic values in art collection, art patterns and fashion design.
In the middle of this picture, the 3 butterflies with shimmering blue on their wings belong to the family Morphidae. It is only distributed in South America and is famous for the dazzling blue luster on the wings of its males. Although there are only 80 species within this family, all of them are cherished by butterfly collectors.
On the right side of the picture we can see the various butterflies from the Amazon.
The upper-left mainly displays butterflies of the family Heliconiidae, which are also known as longwings. It is characterized by narrow wings, long antennae and slender abdomen. Its wingspan is between 60-100 mm. It is also called “poisonous butterfly” because it contains toxins in the body. Some scholars classify it within the family Nymphalidae.
The bottom left of the picture mainly shows a variety of Nymphalidae.
