Just over six feet tall, Soñando New York ("Dreaming New York") is made of Carrara marble, hand-carved from a single block by the renowned Uruguayan sculptor Pablo Atchugarry. The artist is a direct carver, meaning he works from drawing on the material, without sketches. Since 1989, Atchugarry's sculptural poetic has caused him to express himself through monumental works, which are now situated in various public spaces in Europe and Latin America.
