Spotted seals are born on the ice of the sea in the Liaodong Bay, China. In March, they travel with their mothers as far as to Baengnyeongdo and Taean Peninsula in the West Coast of Korea in search of food. After spending the spring, summer, and fall in the West Coast, they go back to their hometown in October. This species is currently designated as Endangered Wild Species Class II of Korea by the Ministry of Environment.
