"Spring of Peace" Inside Painted Bottle

This valuable piece of work, Spring of Peace, was created by Xue Jingwan, an important figure in the Chinese inner painting industry, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Chinese National Day. When he painted this bottle, the specialized paint brush for inner painting had not been invented yet. Master Xue Jingwan bit the bamboo stick with his teeth to make it branched, then dipped it into ink and painted on the inside surface reversely. Inspired from this, Xue Jingwan invented the paint brush for inner painting, which greatly enriched the expressive force of this art form.
