The former St. Peter's Clinic is located at the start of Wai Chai Main Street. In early 1950s, Reverend Fr. René Chevelier took charge of Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Tai-Ku-Lao in the neighbourhood, and decided to enhance its service in the community, including Pokfulam Village. At first, free medical service was provided to the villagers at an open space in the village. In 1954, the two-storey St. Peter's Clinic was built and invited doctors from town to provide free treatment and medication to the villagers. On Sundays, the clinic was also used as a chapel for Sunday masses and was often fully packed with people. Although the clinic is no longer running, and the church has moved out after the demolition of Tai-Ku-Lao in the 1970s, the clinic building still stands nowadays to reflect this past relationship between Pokfulam Village and the church.
