This high-quality four-seater carriage with crane-necks, C-springs and sham joints is thought to have been built for the wedding of Napoleon and Marie Louise. The empress apparently brought it back to Austria later and sold it to the Archbishop of Vienna. The delicate verre églomisé and gold paintings with motifs from antiquity are part of the original decor whereas the large coats-of-arms of the archbishop are a later addition.
