The stone snake’s head is triangle, and its cylindric body coils in an S shape. Its mouth is wide open, painted with vermilion inside. On its raising head, the painted black pupils and vermilion eyeballs inside of the black orbits seem like looking upwards. The convex backbone from its head to tail, and its body shaped two ellipses make this stone snake be carved simply and smoothly. In Jinsha, some stone snakes were found to be together with stone tigers, human figures and disks, and others accompanied with jade ritual artifacts and gold objects. This indicates that stone snake might have played quite an important role in ancient sacrificial activities.
