Bronze medal, (6cms. diameter), struck in 1934 to commemorate the 84 years' service (1849-1933) of the Cruquius Pumping Station, Haarlemmermeer, Holland. Obverse, legend: Stoomgemaal de Cruquius Haarlemmermeer; relief of pumping station and engine house. Reverse, legend: Ter Herinnering aan het Tijdvak 1849-1933; outlines of field pattern. In circular card box, 7cm diameter, height 1cm, titled Kominkluke Begeer Voorschoten. Inscribed in ink inside lid: Presented to the Newcomen Society's President May 9th 1949.
