24th Jan. 37 Dear Van Praag, Will you please kindly transmit the following message to the members of the Philharmonic Orchestra for me. The two weeks that I have had the honor of conducting your magnificent orchestra composed of such remarkable players and artists is drawing to an end. It ends also for me the great joy that I have deeply felt in working with them. I cannot express enough to them my gratitude for their sympathy and understanding towards me both as composer and as conductor. I take my leave of them with real emotion. My kindest greetings to you Very cordially yours Igor Stravinsky
