Stripe pattern book of the Prussian army

Golden bows, silver braids and braids made of wool decorated the uniforms of the army of Prussian King Frederick II (1712-1786). These decorations, attached above all to the chest, the pocket flaps and the cuffs, served not only the beautiful appearance, but marked military ranks and regiments. In order to create a central reference for the approximately 500 different patterns of the approximately one hundred different parts of the Friderician army, a book was produced in the middle of the 18th century, which collected samples of them - the weave pattern book.
