Our suggestion is to "channel people’s own building capacity" into these new peculiar housing conditions, providing not only housing but also the means to take initiative in the urban tissue. We base our architectural housing on archetypes, creating simple architectural moulds. These moulds can be understood both literally and metaphorically, as they are unfinished structures that enable individual initiative and expression. By locating these structures in strategic points inside the urban tissue, we aim at an interaction between the "temporary" inhabitants and the permanent population. More importantly though, our aim is the creation of an area that will not simply vanish once the “problem” is solved, but that will keep society’s long-term memory active (memorials, landmarks).
