After their arrival at KSC, STS-107 Payload Commander Michael Anderson and Mission Specialist Kalpana Chawla head to crew quarters. They and the rest of the crew are at KSC to take part in Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test activities, which include a simulated launch countdown. STS-107 is a mission devoted to research and will include more than 80 experiments that will study Earth and space science, advanced technology development, and astronaut health and safety. Launch is scheduled for Jan. 16, 2003.
